A unique rotary approach with a high-comp naturally aspirated spec!
The incredible powerplant of this FC3S takes center stage.
By removing the turbo from this 13B-T and incorporating port tuning, high-comp rotor and multiple throttle, this marks an evolution in the highly tuned rotary icon of an engine we all love.
The engine bay has been thoughtfully finished to keep full focus on the mechanical wonder it houses. The outer periphery of the rotor housing is highly polished, and the intermediate housing is finished in gold. Auxiliary equipment has been cleanly tucked away and the bay itself shaped to conceal wiring. An electric water pump was installed to streamline the look.
Most of these elements are not groundbreaking in terms of rotary tuning, but they are indeed mastered to full effect here.
The exhaust, equipped with a silencer, emits a mute but well-balanced rotary sound. Stepping on the accelerator unleashes a clean sharp note that resonates at both high and low revs.
Suspension setup gives priority to how the car sits visually, with adjustable arms and coilovers as well as shaped fenders. The ultrawide Panasports are wrapped in high-grade domestic rubber. Although it is setup for street use, large brakes are installed at the front and rear, so circuit use is not out of the question.
A Cusco 5-point roll cage gives the interior a sporty atmosphere. Other details include seats by Mazdaspeed, instrument panel readouts converted to US-specification, and blinker operation on the left side. The factory power steering unit was removed in favor of a smoother electric power steering system.
Still in his twenties, the owner Mr. Shimizu had obtained this RX7 shortly after getting his license. He has overseen and produced the customization and tuning of his favorite car with the mission to keep driving it for a long time to come.
