This is the modern era of VIP style!
Full custom spec pair of Crowns by a specialty VIP shop
ALESS is a large-scale specialty custom shop located in Gifu prefecture with an inventory of over 300 cars in total. The latest work by this shop are two stuning VIP-style Crowns equipped with “ROZEL” original body kits.
The first one of the pair is a 210-series model. The grade of the base model car is the 2013 Royal, but it has now been totally transformed into an aggressive look beyond that of the Crown Athlete grade.
The front piece is not simply an under-lip spoiler but rather a full front bumper shape that reimagines the cars image. It features added three-dimensional elements with large openings on the bottom sides. The grille and bonnet are perfectly matched.
The rear has an under-diffuser to enhance the sporty impression while making good use of the genuine factory bumper. It is a simple yet effective item for updating the styling of the car. A rear deck trunk spoiler also shapes up the sportiness of the car.
The overfenders which are key to the wide look of the exterior add 45mm of width on each side at the front and 70mm each side to the rear. The fender arches have also been raised to accomodate the lower ride height of the car.
The ultra-deep wheels are 20-inch Work Equip (F10.5J, R12.5J). Tires are 225/30 at the front and 305/25 at the rear. The ride height can be controlled by way of an original air suspension.
The second car in this knockout pair is this 220-series model. It follows a more understated concept incorportating black and gold. That being said, it still appears sleek, low and aggressive with its VIP styling.
Like its 210-series brother, the front is also equipped with a full-bumper type part that has an integrated grille. The grille has a design that changes its impression from honeycomb mesh to square mesh depending on the angle at which it is viewed.
While the 210-series model was given a wide overfender treatment, the 220-series here uses a blister fender to create a sense of unity in the flowing lines. These have been produced as one-off originals by a skilled metal shaping craftsman. The wide blister fenders add 70mm of width at the front to each side and 80mm to the rear at each side. A lower side garnish was added to unify the lines from front to rear.
The fuel lid is always a tricky area when going to widebody spec, but the stepped lid here is treated nicely. Detailed finishing like this really shows in the overall presentation of the car.
To acheive the low-down form, this car also uses an original setup air suspension. The tank and compressor are laid out nicely in the trunk.
Commitment to total customization extends to every detail. Even the 305mm large carbon brake rotors are custom produced. The wheels are 20-inch Work Meister M1R (F10.5J, R12.5J).
Injecting a slice of traditional Japanese culture into the interior, panels were specially redone by a lacquerware craftsman. A technique known as pear-skin coating creates a stunning finish.
This pair of stylish Crowns have plenty of tasteful custom touches to make them stand out. They complement one another while each having their own sense of personality. We think a lot of Crown drivers out there will want to turn to ALESS when they decide to customize their cars.
